ET MP Mohammed Basheer and District Collector Vinay Goyal on Saturday (July 18) directed officials to expedite projects under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Program (MPLADS), expressing concern over delays despite administrative sanction for most of the works.
The Collector presided over a review meeting here and instructed the officials to complete all the approved projects within the stipulated time frame and resolve the technical issues delaying the approval of the remaining proposals.
During 2024-25 and 2025-26, MP recommended 219 projects worth ₹11.52 crore. Administrative sanction was given to 136 projects at a cost of ₹7.66 crore. Of these, only nine have been completed, with 127 in various stages of implementation.
Scheduled caste development works were also reviewed in the meeting. Of the 55 recommended projects, only 13 received administrative sanction and three were completed.
Officials have been directed to utilize the ₹16.39 crore available under MP Local Development Fund by expediting approved works and securing approvals for pending projects. They have also been asked to ensure that development benefits, including those in Scheduled Caste areas, reach the beneficiaries without delay.
The meeting emphasized on better coordination through the e-Sakshi portal to monitor the progress and directed that all 127 ongoing projects be completed within the prescribed schedule.
The meeting was attended by District Planning Officer TV Shaju, Finance Officer E. Praseetha and senior officials from various departments.
