Farmland issues: CPI(M) begins two-day padayatra in Srikakulam

Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) State Secretary V Srinivasa Rao on Monday urged the state government to reserve land rights for farmers who have been cultivating land in Narayanapuram area of ​​Srikakulam district for the past 50 years.

He formally launched a two-day padayatra from Chilakapalaem to Srikakulam to mount pressure on the government over the long-standing farmers’ issue. Alleging that there was a conspiracy in the land records, Mr. Rao alleged that some revenue officials along with estate agents had altered the records and removed the names of the farmers.

CPI(M) Srikakulam district secretary D. Govinda Rao alleged that public representatives have not responded to the issue despite submitting many petitions.
