Karnataka President of the Farbon Association Kurbur Shanthakumar on Wednesday strongly criticized both trade union and state governments for not providing farmers sufficient fertilizer urea.
He stated that he has launched a convention on the awareness of farmers and the government is the duty to provide farmers seeds and fertilizers in time, because they are those who add food to the nation. But instead of fulfilling this obligation, representatives of both governments blame each other. ”
Mr. Shanthakumar said that the Massive Farmers’ Assembly of 25th August would be held in Delhi to promote the Charter of Requirements. These include the “legalization of the law guaranteeing the minimum support price (SME) for agricultural production; exclusion of agriculture, dairy products and poultry sectors from the Indian business agreement; complete surrender of all farmer’s loans; withdraw all police cases of farmers’ protest in Delhi and protesting protest.”
The chairman of the Convention Treasurer of the Association of Sugar Cane MB Chetan said that the Association has fought for the rights of farmers since its foundation. It is because of such a struggle that leaders like Shanthakumar have gained respect for their principle stalls.
Mr. Shanthkumar met with an accident in Nový Delhi when he went there to participate in the agitation of farmers. After the operation he was hospitalized for a long time. This meant his first meeting after recovery from the incident.
On this occasion, one Hundi Siddappa remembered Mr. Shanthakumar in the hospital. “We were afraid of seeing him in this state. It is encouraging to see him recover and participate in this event. We hope to continue working to improve farmers.”
General Secretary of the Baradanapura Nagaraj district, district President Kirasura Shankar, State Secretary Atahalli Devaraj, director of Mahadevayya, social activist Vasantkumar Mysoremath, former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Chandrashekhar Patil. The Convention was attended by more than 300 farmers and leaders of various organizations.
