Farmers protesting against the proposed Hactipeeth motorway decided to greet representatives of the main Minister Maharashtra Eknath Shinde during his planned visit to Kolhapur on Saturday (April 5, 2025) playing a controversial steam song comedian comic Kamra as a protest.
The satirical song inspired by Bollywood attracted extensive will from Shiv Sen staff who vandalized the Habitat Studio, a stand-up performance of Mr. Kamra after a video released on his YouTube channel.
Farmers, under the banner of Shaktipeeth Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti, accused Mahayuti’s government of having gave a promise to gather and provided exemptions last year in a survey of the Assembly.

The proposed highway, from Nagpur to Goa, was approved in 2023. The project requires obtaining 9,385 hectares of land, including 265 hectares of forest land, some of which fall into 11 districts where farmers are reluctant to give up their land – their “only source”.
“People may have accepted Shinde’s betrayal slightly. But if they betray farmers and can’t cancel the project, we won’t tolerate it. Last year, 2,900 farmers ended their lives during farmers. Kolhapur, Shaktipeeth Virodhi Sangharsh Samiti Coordinator Girish Fonde.
