Members of the Association of Sugar Cute Growers in Karnataka demanded fair compensation for farmers who have lost their agricultural land at 66/11 kV and 220 kv of energy transmission lines passing through their fields within the Sub-Division Hunsur from Power Station Gejjeyanavadagudii.
Farmers who participated in the protest were condemned by the authorities for determining compensation without providing proper information or organizing consultations with landowners. They claimed that officials prepared “false news” and a fixed compensation without their consent.
“The minimum compensation of £ 6 lakh, which should be fixed,” demanded farmers, and pointed out that land prices in the area of layout (in Kadakola and Vajamangala, where transmission lines also pass through their fields, which are also described as £ 60 000.
They urged the District Administration to withdraw the compulsory registration of AADHAAR and install the meter for users of agricultural pumps, continued the Akrama-Sakrama system for the pump and provided free electricity, whose lands are affected by I-Power with high voltage.
They also required an electricity connection with houses built in orchards and agricultural fields in favor of students and older inhabitants.
Another representative of the Commissioner Shivraj received a memorandum from farmers if there is no representative of Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy.
The State Secretary of the Association Athathhali Devaraj, General Secretary of the Baradanapura Nagaraj district, district vice president Marball Neelakanthpa, and close to 100 farmers are too involved in protest.
