Farmers have developed plans to organize protest in gangapore near Mundaragi in the Gadag district against Vijayanagar on Monday to decide to crush without informing sugar cane growers.
“Farmers are involved in the factory and the factory management is obliged to inform us about the overwhelming season. The factory has not done so. Therefore, on Sunday on Sunday we are planning to pick up the sugar factory,” said the secretary of the state growers in Karnataka on Sunday.
Farmers are also angry that the factory collects a large amount as a transport fee, he said.
“The factory annoys the growers by deducting an exaggerated amount for expenses to cut sugar cane and transport. The Union government set a rate of 3,329 GBP for a ton for crushing sugar cane, but the factory announced the price of 2,565 GBP per ton.
He said that the factory administration did not even inform or listen to the requirements of Gadag, Koppal and Vijayanagara districts, which add sugar cane to the factory.
“Previously, the management used to convene a meeting with a representative of Gadag, Mundargi Tahsildar and sugar cane growers. Protest,” he said.
