All India Khet Mazdoor Kisan Sabha (AIKMKS) and Rythu Coolie Sangham representatives from Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday requested the government to withdraw the police cases filed against AIKMKS national convener Simhadri Jhansi, Rythu Coolie Sangham state secretary Dantuluri Varma and other leaders for holding a public meeting and rally without prior permission of the police at Parvati in the department on March 11.
In a press release on Tuesday, leaders V. Mutyal, Bhaskara Rao and others said that they had obtained prior permission and that it was not appropriate for the police department to file cases against the leaders who organized the meeting in a peaceful manner. They said the police department provided adequate police security for the meeting and now claim that the meeting was organized despite restrictions on gatherings and public gatherings at the district headquarters and other parts of the district.
