Farmer killed by lightning in Uppada

A 55-year-old farmer died on Sunday after being struck by lightning in his paddy field at Paatha Isukapalli village in U. Kothapalli mandal of Kakinada district. Late Nooka Raju was engaged in checking his paddy field when the incident occurred.

The Uppada Kothapalli police recovered the body from the field and sent it to Kakinada State General Hospital for post-mortem.

Expressing grief over the incident, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan asked about the incident and directed Kakinada district officials to initiate ex gratia to the family members of the deceased. Mr. Kalyan inquired about the incident and the farmer’s family over phone.
