Fake WhatsApp account in the name of Visakhapatnam Collector used to collect money

The Visakhapatnam Collector’s office has warned district officials, government employees and the public about a fake WhatsApp account created in the name of Collector M. Abhishiktha Kishore to collect money.

In an official statement, the collector’s office said that an unknown person was using the collector’s name and identity to send messages to people and seek money.

The statement urged public and government employees not to respond to suspicious WhatsApp messages requesting money in the Collector’s name or to transfer any funds. People have also been warned against sharing personal details, bank account details or one-time passwords (OTPs) with unknown persons.

The collector’s office urged officials, employees and members of the public to remain vigilant and alert others to suspected fraud.
