Teachers should cultivate the habit of writing down their thoughts, which allows for reflection and continuous improvement of teaching practices, said Ganesan Raghuram, former director of IIM Bangalore and professor (emeritus) at Chanakya University and Gujarat Maritime University.
Addressing faculty members at a faculty orientation program on ‘Classroom Dynamics – Learning, Preparation and Engagement’ organized by PB Siddhartha College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada on Thursday, Mr. Raghram said there is a need to adopt a context-to-concept model in management education to increase classroom effectiveness.
Mr. Raghuram also emphasized that student-centricity must be the primary objective and urged the faculty to align teaching methods with the aspirations of the students. He emphasized that the application of knowledge for development should be the guiding motto of every management department. Emphasizing experiential learning, he pointed out the essential role of case studies in connecting theory and practice. In conclusion, he noted that the main goal of managers is the performance of the organization.
Patibandla Murali, former faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad also addressed the participants and shared his teaching experience. He emphasized the importance of moving from “concept to application” in management education.
