The Dire Wolf – a species that was extinct almost 12,500 years ago was revived through genetic engineering. Scientists refer to this as “the first de-death in the world”. The species is well known for its display in HBO Hit Hit Series Game of Thrones. In a press release, Colossal Biosciences, a genetic engineering company based in Texas, announced the birth of three desperate wolves.
“It is a revolutionary milestone of scientific progress that illustrates another leap forward in Colossal technologies and is a critical step on the way to eliminate other target species,” the company said.
Colossal Biosciences also successfully clone two Red Wolves litters, the most critically endangered wolves in the world, using “innovative non -invasive blood cloning techniques”.
“Three of the Colossal -terrible wolves include two adolescent men (Romulus and Remus) and one puppy (Khaleesi). Kolossal also born two litters of red wolves from three different lines of the founder.
Colossal also shared video on X, captured Dire Wolf Puppies for the first time in more than 10,000 years. The headline reads: “You hear the first howl of a desperate wolf over 10,000 years. Meet Romulus and Remus-Printed Extracting Animals in the world, born October 1, 2024”
Colossal was founded in 2021 by entrepreneur Ben Lamm and a renowned biologist Harvard Medical School George Church and was originally created to bring back a wool mammoth. Over time, its mission has expanded to include the de-permission of other iconic species, such as Australian Tylacin (Tasmic Tiger) and Dodo, as Bloomberg says.
The colossal CEO and co-founder Ben Lamm shared his pride in the success of the team and said: “I couldn’t be proud of the team. This massive milestone is the first of many incoming examples, showing that our de-end technology. Indragable from magic. ”
