
President Droucadi Murmu expressed his condolences over the loss of lives in a factory fire in SOLAPUR, Mahara. In a shared X report, she offered prayers for a quick recovery of those injured in the fire that occurred on Sunday.

“The news of the death of many people due to a fire in the Maharashtra factory is extremely painful. I will express my deepest condolences to all surviving families and pray for the rapid recovery of those injured,” President Murmu on Sunday.
“Eight people, including three women and a child, were killed in a massive fire in the Mahari factory on Sunday,” said the pti citing officials.
Preliminary reports suggest that an electric short circuit caused a fire around 3:45 pm in Central Textile Mills, located on Akkalkot Road in the SOLAPUR MIDC area, approximately 400 km from Bombai.
Among the victims was the owner of the factory, Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri, three of his family members-including his one and half-year-old grandson-and four workers.
Among the deceased individuals include the owner of the factory, Haji Usman Hasanbhai Mansuri (80) and three members of his family, namely his grandson Anas Hanif Masuri (25), his wife Shifa Anas Mansuri (20) and their one and half years Yusuf Mansuri.
The body of the Mansuri family was found inside the bedroom of the structure on the factory area by the fire brigade staff who had to dismantle the wall to get entry.
Fire offers from SOLAPUR Municipal Corporation, Pandharpur and Akkalkot, MidC and NTPC city councils were mobilized to ignite the fire.
The official said that more than a hundred water tankers were pushed into operation.
“The tin was controlled around 17:00, but during the cooling operation it broke out again. It was around 20:00,” he said.
