Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha said on Thursday (Nov 13, 2025) that society must play its role in “recognizing and reporting suspected terrorist activities and countering radicalisation”.
Addressing the second special convocation of the University of Jammu, Mr. Sinha said, “Security forces are determined to destroy the terrorist ecosystem, but society too must join the fight and do its duty”.
He asked the company to actively fight against terrorism. “Terrorism is a multifaceted challenge and society has a key role to play in recognizing and reporting suspected terrorist activities and countering radicalization efforts,” Sinha said.
The lieutenant general said that if the people do not take a strong stand against the terrorists, it will become an existential threat to the society and destroy its stability, peace and progress.
“I want to ask the enlightened people that it is time to expose those who give shelter to terrorists and create extremist stories. You have to stand against such elements,” he said.
The LG said that terrorism in Union territory poses a major threat to peace and progress. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered the onslaught for more than three decades. But now the youth here are increasingly dreaming and working towards goals similar to those of the rest of the country and yearning for a better life and career,” he said.
