Kaanapadvukal, a photographic exhibition celebrating the biodiversity and agricultural heritage of Kerala’s Fields, which took place in the Gallery of the Kerala Gallery Lithakal Academs, attracts crowds.
The exhibition, organized by The Birders Collective, represents more than 240 photographs taken by approximately 100 birds, which offers visitors a live insight into the unique Ecosystem of Wetlands. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness, especially in children and young adults, on the ecological importance of these landscapes.
Collector Arjun Pandiyan, inaugurating the exhibition, praised the efforts of the organizers and ensured full support of similar campaigns for environmental awareness. Mini Anto, representing a team, emphasized the importance of linking the younger generation with nature through visual narration. She stressed that the exhibition is a step towards public sensitization to the fragile biodiversity of the region.
Diversity
Photographs on the display show a wide range of objects – from rare migration birds and wetland fauna to agricultural practices and landscape features.
The artistic meeting for children will be held on 4 May and encourages young visitors to express their impressions of nature through drawing and painting.
