The explosion was reported outside the residence of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar, Pandjab. The police said they were watching CCTV and investigating whether it was a grenade attack or something else.
Dhanpreet Kaur, Police Commissioner Jalandhar, told reporters: “Around 1 in the morning we got information about the explosion, after which we reached the place and started the investigation. The forensic team is investigating this matter … We also watch CCTV … Forensic team is investigating Grenade attack or something else …”
BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia also said he had heard the sound of thunder.
“About 1 in the morning there was an explosion … I slept and thought it was the sound of thunder … Later I was informed that there was an explosion … Then I sent my shooter to the police station … CCTV is investigated; forensic experts are also present here …”
