
At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured after a massive bomb attack on a mosque on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Friday.
According to an AP report, police in Islamabad said the explosion at the sprawling mosque was an attack and that an investigation was underway. Rescuers and witnesses said at least 10 people died in the attack and some were in critical condition.
The blast took place at Tarlai Imambargah in Islamabad’s Shehzad Town area, Dawn reported.
Television footage and footage on social media showed police and residents transporting the injured to nearby hospitals.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and asked the authorities to ensure the best medical care is provided to the injured persons who came to the city’s various hospitals.
