Hospital Handal, Vijayawada, in cooperation with Indian Medical Association (IMA), hosted a program of medical education focused on advanced practices and innovation on Sundays in extrapral membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in Vijayawada.
Entitled “Mastering Ecmo-insights from leading handipal experts” participated in a all-day event of medical experts and professionals from Hyderabad and Bengalur. Sitting were a discussion based on cases and applications of critical care, such as weaning strategies, selection of patients and bridging on cardiac transplantation.
In addition, the program included a practical workshop that focused on ECMO components, cannulation techniques, oxygenator failure, air embolism management, and 4H problem solving strategies. The event was supported by departments of critical care and pulmonology in hospitals Manipal.
Sudhakar Kantipudi, director of the Hospital Hospital, called for other such initiatives to improve the capabilities of the ECMO and the results of critical care in the region.
