The Center for the Development of Chemical Skills (CSDC), based on bridging the abyss between the Chemical Industry expectations and academic programs, proposed to expand its educational program. Since then, he will train students from all utilities who want to take care of his career in the chemical industry except graduates and postgraduate chemistry.
CSDC is a common initiative of the Association of Chemical Industry, Indian Chemical Council and Manali Industries Association, non -profit trust. The training program was developed by a team of chemical engineers with more than 40 years of experience in this industry. So far, about 1,200 students and 400 engineers benefit from the training program.
Topics such as heat transfer, mass transfer and processing of process and process technology have not been taken into account of soft skills. The entities were selected focused on the specific needs of the industry and the identification of persons who were not usually taught as part of the curriculum. The topics were selected regardless of their career selected by fresh graduates. The first program started in 2021 and encouraged by students’ feedback, which expanded its programs to universities. Institutes such as SRMIST, AC College of Technology and CPR Institute of Engineering and Technology have already included it in their curriculum, the official said.
CSDC offered the program exclusively on the design of process plants at some universities, as Chennai is the center for renowned design organizations.
A special course for engineers with several years of experience in the chemical industry took place. The program has been performed three times in Manali, Cuddalore and RaniPet Industrial Belts to inform engineers in the chemical industry of the development and problems that should be aware, regardless of the branch. Operators in Manali Belt have undergone two such programs to improve their skills.
