Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the excise department has set up a 24-hour dispatch center and deployed a strike force to curb the distribution and sale of illegal liquor and narcotics, strengthen night patrols and ensure speedy redressal of complaints.
The public can file complaints directly at dispatch centers, tax authorities or through the mobile telephone numbers of the leading authorities.
The identity of the complainants will be kept confidential and those who provide information about adulterated liquor, foreign liquor or illegal brewing will be rewarded, the Deputy Excise Commissioner said in a press release.
