After working as an HR professional at companies including Info Edge India Ltd and Cognizant, according to her LinkedIn profile, Arpita Sahu decided to quit her corporate job in Delhi and move to Goa after four-and-a-half years. An MBA graduate, Sahu wanted to leave a conventional career, find a place to call home and discover a greater sense of purpose.

The first Monday without work brings financial anxiety
The initial excitement of moving to a new city was also accompanied by the reality of giving up a regular job. In another Instagram video, Sahu opened up about the fear she experienced on her first Monday without having to report to the office.
One of her biggest concerns is how long she can last without a monthly salary. She also talked about the pressure to make her decision work, along with trying to stay focused and spending time checking Instagram and keeping track of her follower count.

“There’s an unspoken pressure to do well and there’s a certain amount of money in my bank account that I know won’t last me long. My focus is completely gone. I’m unable to follow anything without picking up my phone and looking at Instagram and scrolling and looking at my follower count,” she added.
“Send this to someone who is afraid to take that step! It’s never easy but I hope it’s all worth it,” she captioned the post.
The transition meant adjusting to an unfamiliar routine without the financial predictability and structure of a conventional corporate career. While she hasn’t shared details about the new professional venture, her Instagram videos offer a glimpse into her quest to settle in Goa and work out her next steps.

Sahu’s move drew mixed reactions on social media, with several users encouraging her to embrace a fresh start and wishing her the best, while others related to her experiences and shared stories of quitting conventional jobs to pursue a more meaningful life.
