
Former Chief Judge India Sanjiv Khanna said he would not accept any official tasks after retirement and that he would continue his legal shift.
Judge Khanna was appointed CJI 11 November 2024 and left on 13 May after the six -month term. Khanna’s justice will be replaced by BR Gavai, who now folds an oath as 52.

Sanjiv Khanna’s justice was promoted to the Indian Supreme Court January 18, 2019.

On June 24, 2005, Khanna was promoted as another judge of the High Court in Delhi and on February 20, 2006 he became a permanent judge.
