In an interview with Hindus, executive officer of Tataiahgunta Gangamma A. Jaya Kumar said he was expected to visit about 80,000 devotees during Jathary.
Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu ordered officials of TMC, police and income departments to ensure that devotees face problems in the queues. TMC Commissioner also asked employees to maintain cleanliness inside and outside the temple.
Tirupati District Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju ordered the police command to tighten the security in the temple and said that the number of police workers placed should be proportional to the number of devoted to Jathara.
Mr. Harshavardhan Raju said: “Police teams should perform their assigned duties correctly and should also be polite towards people. On 12 and 13 May must take over traffic to liberate the temple routes.”
