Every inch of Pakistan’s territory lies within the range of BrahMos and what happened during Operation Sindoor was just a teaser, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lucknow on Saturday (October 18, 2025) in a stern warning to Pakistan.
The operation proved that victory has become a habit for India, he said.
The Union Minister along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured at the BrahMos Air Unit at Sarojini Nagar here.
Mr. Singh described the BrahMos as a symbol of India’s growing power.
“BrahMos is not just a missile, it is a testament to India’s strategic confidence. From Army to Navy to Air Force, it has become a key pillar of our defense forces,” he said.
He claimed that India’s defense capabilities now serve as a strong deterrent.
“Every inch of Pakistan’s territory lies within the range of BrahMos. What happened during Operation Sindoor was just a teaser. It made Pakistan realize that if India can create Pakistan, then if the time comes… Needless to say, you all are quite wise,” he said.
Operation Sindoor proved that “victory is not just a small incident for us, it has become a habit,” he added.
Welcoming Operation Sindoor, Mr. Singh said it had instilled new confidence among Indians and proved the effectiveness of BrahMos to the world.
“Preserving that trust is now our shared responsibility,” he said.
“The whole world now recognizes India’s capabilities. BrahMos has strengthened our belief that India can turn its dreams into reality,” he said.
As part of Operation Sindoor, Indian defense forces in May targeted terrorist infrastructure and defense installations in Pakistan following the April 22 attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left 26 dead.
Indian BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles were used in India to destroy Pakistani airbases during the operation.
On the production of BrahMos at the Lucknow unit, Mr. Singh said the project symbolizes India’s growing confidence and capabilities in defense manufacturing.
“Lucknow is not just my parliamentary constituency, it resides in my soul. Today it has become a city of technology and industry, apart from culture and tradition.”
“The successful production of BrahMos missiles here shows that what was once a dream has now become a reality. The project represents patience, hard work and determination,” he said.
Chief Minister Mr Adityanath said it was a proud moment for Uttar Pradesh and a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision.
“Under the defense industrial corridor, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major hub for indigenous defense manufacturing. The BrahMos unit is a shining example of this,” he said.
“With a missile like BrahMos, India is now able to meet not only its own security needs but also the needs of its allies in the world,” he said.
The CM said his government is committed to supporting projects that enhance national security and create new job opportunities and technical expertise in the region.
According to an official statement, Saturday’s (October 18, 2025) event is not only a milestone for the Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), but will also reinvigorate India’s determination to achieve self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing.
BrahMos Aerospace’s state-of-the-art unit, which was inaugurated on May 11, houses all modern facilities for missile integration, testing and final quality control. After successful testing, the missiles are ready for deployment by the Indian Armed Forces.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and various officials were present on the occasion.
