
A new module law camp was held at Vignan University in Guntur district in coordination with Vignan Law College under the auspices of the State Legal Services Authority on Saturday. It focused on National Legal Services Authority (Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation Programmes) Scheme, 2015 and NALSA (Legal Services to Unorganized Sector Workers) Scheme, 2015.
Chief District Magistrate and Chairman District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) B. Sai Kalyan Chakravarthi inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chakravarthi said that every citizen should be aware of the law and aware of their duties and pointed out the dangers of drug addiction and indulging in ragging among the youth. He informed the gathering that eligible individuals could get free legal aid and cases that could be compromised should be settled through Lok Adalat.
1st Additional Senior Civil Judge Y. Gopala Krishna, DLSA Secretary Syed Ziauddin, Vignan Law Institute Director PS Rakshit, School of Law and Management Dean K. Kalpana, Senior Bank Manager Mahipal Reddy, Deputy Labor Commissioner Gayatri and Bar Association President Y. Siva Suryanarayana spoke at the event.
Prizes were later distributed to the winners of the Constitution Week Essay Writing Competition. To create awareness about the importance of safe driving, helmets were distributed to the students.
