New Delhi: The State Insurance Company (ESIC) added 1.93 million new members in June according to interim data on wage.
The ESIC payroll data for June 2024 recorded approximately 2.16 million new additions, indicating approximately 10.6%in June this year.
The Ministry of Labor and Employment, which published data on Thursday, said that about 958,000 young employees under the age of 25, which covered less than half of the new additions.
The number of new youth added to the workforce in June was about 1.2% higher than in the previous month, the data showed. In May there were about 946,000 new amendments for youth, the statement said.
The Moon also recorded the inclusion of approximately 34,672 new facilities in the ESIC social security system and expanded coverage to multiple workers.
Gender analysis of wage data revealed that women in April were 413,000 net records, with 87 Transgender employees also registered within ESI.
“It is clear through the data that from 19.37 employees added over the month over the month, 9.58 Lakh employees of approximately 49.50% of the total registrations belong to the age group of up to 25 years,” the Ministry said.
“Also, the wise wise analysis of wage data suggests that the net registration of female members was 4.13 lakh in June 2025.
ESIC provides wage data to monitor employment in the country and to provide the benefits of the social sector to employees to be used in the case of emergencies or medical urgency. It also provides doses of motherhood and disability.
