
New Delhi: According to wages published on Friday in March, the state insurance company added 1.63 million new members.
The Ministry of Law and Justice, which published data, said that the new additions were 796,000 young employees under 25 years of age.

For comparison, 1.54 million new members joined ESIC in February.
In the month, approximately 31,514 new facilities within the ESIC social security system were also included and expanded to cover multiple workers compared to 23,526 new devices in the previous month.
Gender data analysis
Gender analysis of wage data revealed that women in March were 361,000 net records, with 100 transgender employees also registered in the ESI.

“Data shows that out of a total of 1.63 million employees within a month, 796,000 employees of approximately 49% of total registrations were up to 25 years of age,” the Ministry and Justice said.
“Also, gender wise analysis of wage data suggests that the net enrollment of female members was in March 2025 361 000. In addition, a total of 100 transgender employees were also registered in March 2025,” he added in March 2025.
During February, EPFO added 1.46 million net members, while the total number of new members was 754,000.
The consistent increase in ESIC and EPFO records reflects the expansion formal employment and wider social security coverage across sectors.

The data monitors the Centrum and Net New Additions to three main schemes per month: the organization of the Provisional Employee Funds (EPFO), State Insurance Corp. (ESIC) and the National Pension System (NPS).
