The tension prevailed on Thrissur Medical College Hospital on Saturday after the relatives of youth who allegedly died after a mistake related to anesthesia in Chalakuda Hospital, refused to accept the body for several hours and demand an investigation of the incident.
Sineesh, 34, from Kodesse, died on Friday at the Hospital Taluk on Friday reportedly due to complications after the administration of anesthesia. Although the postmort exploration was completed on Saturday noon, the body was not accepted in the evening after intense protests and negotiations.
The uncertainty developed because the mourned family members who joined the local people organized a protest before Marna. Standoff ended after discussions conducted by a sub-customer who assured the protesters that the formal investigation would be done immediately.
Thrissur collector Arjun Pandian ordered the district doctors (DMO) to explore the incident and present a report. After these assurances, the protest was dismissed and the family took the body to Chalakuda.
Meanwhile, the police registered the case of unnatural death on the basis of a statement provided by the family. They also stated that the complaint would be filed with the Minister of Health looking for a lawsuit.
However, the Taluk Hospital superintendent claimed that the hospital had not been forfeited in connection with Sinees’ death.
