Erattupetta municipal authorities have warned of strong legal action against alleged hate campaigns circulating on social media, which they say are aimed at defaming the region on communal lines.
According to municipal chairman VP Nassar, they are trying to inflame tension in the community after a recent traffic accident in the city. He said a social media post by an aggrieved party involved in the incident tried to give social color to the accident. “Such narratives are unacceptable and defame Erattupetta as a whole. Any attempt to communalise the accident will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he said.
