On Wednesday (October 1, 2025), PMK called on the collapse of the building of insufficient construction in North Chennai, which resulted in the death of nine migrating workers on September 30.
The leader pattali Makkal Katchi Anbumani Ramadoss demanded compensation 25 lakh for families of the deceased and 5 ₹ Lakh for the injured.
The building under construction at the ENNORE thermal power plant in North Chennai collapsed on 30 September and required the lives of nine migrating workers, all from Assam.
One person who has suffered injuries undergoes treatment at the Royapetta government hospital in the city.
In his statement Anbumani Ramadoss expressed condolences to surviving families and said, “It was reported that there was such an incident due to negligence. I demand an incident investigation.” He also urged that there were compensation for the deceased families and 5 Lakh to those who suffered injuries.
Tamil Nadu main Minister MK Stalin announced to the families of the deceased’s relief of 10 lakh. In addition, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the families of the deceased from the National Fund for Assistance to the Prime Minister will be provided Ex Gratia of 2 ₹ Lakh.
