Root scored more than 2,000 runs every Australia and India. It also has more than 1,000 test runs against South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Western India and shows its ability to perform in all conditions.
He scored over 30 test centuries and averages above 49. Regardless of where he detonated, Root remained one of the most reliable artists in England.
Now he is fifth in the list of all leading cross -country centers in the test cricket. Only Sachin Tendulkar (15 921), Ricky Ponting (13 378), Jacques Kallis (13 289) and Rahul Dravid (13 288) have more runs than him.
