Indian Captain Shubman Gill scored a statement of two centuries in the ongoing second test match against England. SHUBMAN first fired in Birmingham and led India to a huge total of 587 runs with its amazing 269-running click. SHUBMAN spoke after the game and revealed that he was training from the Indian Premier League for a test series in England.
Gill had a sensational beginning of her England, hit the century in Leeds, and then followed him with a double century in Birmingham. He said he worked on his technique at the end of IPL 2025, but began to train with a red ball much earlier.
To prepare for the test series, SHUBMAN has fired in Ahmedabad Nets against Ball Dukes, which is used in England for test matches. New India No. 4 revealed that it was difficult for him to move between the T20 and test cricket and that he had to work on his thinking before entering this tour.
“It’s easy to move from the T20 to T20, but the return from T20 to tests is a bit difficult because you and your team have practiced one way and your instincts are tuned to it,” said Shaubman Gill on the day of the other day of the second test match.
“Control it and repeatedly call your mind and body to adapt to it is difficult. That’s why I started to train tests during the IPL itself. That’s when I started preparing my mind and body,” he added.
“I fired nicely, but after scoring 30 or 40 runs I got out. So I wanted to enjoy my firing. I focused too hard, so I decided to make the best use. I started working from the IPL itself,” Gill revealed.
Gill Learning about the work
SHUBMAN could have hit 30 borders and 3 six in the first shifts in Edgbaston, but revealed that the runs were not easy at the beginning of his shifts. Gill said he had to be constantly reminded to be patient and stay in the goal.
“I scored smoothly in the last match, but it didn’t come here so easily. Still, I had thinking that if the goal was good and I was set up, no matter how long a bat, I shouldn’t leave the match halfway,” SHUBman said.
He added that he did not want to repeat his mistakes from the first test match, where the Indian tail collapsed in both shifts and forced India to associate with much less runs than they should score.
“In the last match, I learned that no matter how long you have fired, under these conditions, there may be collapse in lower order at any time. So I tried to stay there as long as I could. I wanted Bowler to get me with a good ball.
Gill’s 269 helped India to publish huge total of the first shifts. The guest party declared late on the second day and managed to pick up three key goals. The party will start on the third day with a lead of 510 runs and hopes to take the dominant first leadership in Edgbaston.
