Former English captain Nasser Hussain feels that the integration of Jofry Archer into the team for the second test against India is gambling. Archer returned to the test team after four yearsAfter last playing in India in 2021. Pacer recently returned to the Red-ball cricket with Sussex at the regional championship.
Archer bowed 18 overs in the match with Durham, but without a goal. Despite this, it was included in the team for the game against India in Edgbaston. When he spoke to Sky Sports, Hussain said it was a great news for cricket Pacer and England, that he was returning to cricket testing, but he admitted it was too much risk.
Hussain said it was a gambling that is worth starting to start the team with a red ball, but wondered if it could be done later.
“I think it’s too much a risk this week, but maybe it was so good – I don’t know that Jofra Archer’s body – it could go so well that they say,” We’ll play you this week. “Then there is a problem, who will you miss?” said.
“I think it’s a gambling worth taking, I just don’t know if it’s worth taking this week. I’d do it a week after Lord,” Hussain said.
Why not wait another week just to make sure?
Hussain said there were three ways of England with Archer, the first being included in the team. The former English captain felt that the other was to let him play as part of Sussex for another game and take him to the Lord for the third game.
The final solution for Archer was to leave him in the group and slowly increase his workload and let him practice during the breaks.
Hussain asked if England could expect another week Want Archer for ashes in Australia. England Captain said that the team management might have wanted to find out whether Archer could play at least two of the remaining four tests.
“It was this week that he made his first -class return for Sussex for four years when he bowed for 18 years. When Archer is fully fit, he is one of the best in the world. It is absolutely cash register, it has a raw pace.
“What is a rush when we waited so long? Why not wait another week just to make sure? It is obvious that they also have one eye. It’s not just Edgbaston and Lord and this series. We know what to go and want to get involved.
“Bowling is fast work and it is a risk. It is a risk that is willing to undergo, and I think it has to take before winter, it must find out that Jofra may go through maybe two of these four test matches.”
Archer played 13 tests and raised 42 goals On average 31.04.
