Mark Wood admitted that he was eager to connect with Jofra Archer, but he expects both of them to receive immediate challenges, even if they become fit. Archer is on the comeback trail when he returned to Sussex at the regional championship and is be considered a return in the second test against India. Wood, on the other hand, focuses on returning in the fifth test when he also returns from injury.
When he spoke to the Daily Mail, Pacer said he would like to be paired next to Archer, who is ready for a great summer and winter. Wood, however, said that the team is doing well at the moment, and it must make sure they are fit and fire and offer something to the captain.
“It would be nice to play with him,” Wood admitted. “It looks in great ghosts and great fitness. It will be a massive summer and winter for him. It’s exciting, but you can’t look too far forward and neither of us has the right to just enter the team.”
“We have to make sure we shoot, except for speed and bowling at our maximum – 90 mph -plus – and offer something to the captain and team. You can’t just expect you to play when these boys are currently in the team.
Wood, however, admitted that it would be exciting to be part of the Ashes group and head to Australia.
“But it would be exciting if I could go to Australia with a package of fast pitchners. Australia had the three or four quick pitchors for a long time. It would be nice to bring our own for us,” Wood said.

When he talked about his recovery, Wood said he had bowed several times without a big start and saw a surgeon last week. Pacer said he was still trying to be ready for the fifth test against India and is currently 50-50.
“Now I bowed five times, not out of the big start,” Wood said. “I saw the surgeon last week and he said it looks great and everything is on the way.”
“I’m still focusing on the fifth test. At the moment it’s about 50-50. I still have to go a little and there are a lot of other pitchs around.”
“We don’t want to feel as if we were competing against each other. It is a rounded group where they can cause damage against India, and I can cause damage against Australia. That’s what we hope for.”
