Rahul, who accumulated 532 runs on average 53.20, including the two centuries and the two 1950s, was the second highest Indian runner in the series. He played key roles in different positions in the tabs and created a solid initial partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
“There are very, very few people who know it – after the birth of their child was in the IPL and immediately returned to start preparing for the test series in England,” Nayar said in an exclusive interview. “While many people wouldn’t do it, he knew the importance of this series. He understood it.”
“Every minute after the last game IPL played, it was about how he could do well in this test series. So it’s great to see him succeed and get the recognition he deserves right – as a guy who has done all the dirty work and still managed to perform on every issue of batting.”

The former dough in Mumbai also praised the determination of the Indian team through a tour, especially after their lively performance in Manchester.
“Many changes you have seen with our players running are partly down the conditions, but also because of the hunger they showed there, they go out and do a point,” Nayar said.
“Determination in the last game, the fight they showed – just tells you about the mentality that our players carry, and the feeling they have for the test cricket.”
Looking at the last day of the series Nayar added: “All overall, the Indian cricket is in good hands, and hopefully we will pack it today and everything is good.”
