Former Indian engineer Farakh and legendary West Indies Captain Clive Lloyd was awarded the Lancashire County Club cricket club with stalls named after them in Old Trafford, Manchester. The revelation took place on the day of the start of the fourth test between England and India. The engineer, who represented Lancashire between 1968 and 1976, performed in 175 matches, collected 5 942 runs, 429 catches and 35 stumps. His arrival meant a turning point in club wealth and helped them end the 15 -year -old silver drought by winning the Gillette Cup four times between 1970 and 1975.
Despite his deep-rooted ties to Indian cricket-including unforgettable performances at the Mumbai’s brabourne-engineer, surprisingly, he has no name after him in his home country. Now 87, he continues to live in Manchester, a city that has called home since his retirement. Lloyd, a double captain with the World Cup victory, joined Lancashire at the beginning of the 70th year as an overseas player. Its connection with the club took two decades during which he played a key role in the transformation of cricket culture and Lancashire identity. Its impact, in the field and beyond, remains one of the most influential in the history of the region.
