VCK leader Thol. On Tuesday, Thirumavalavan repeated his request to the State Government to prevent a special law to prevent the killing of honor in Tamil Nadu.
He added that state governments were responsible for the government.
In his statement, MP Chidambaram pointed out that the Supreme Court confirmed the life imprisonment that Madras High Court condemned at the caste honor of Kannagi and Murugesan from Kuppanatham in the Cuddalore district. “In this case, justice was delivered after 22 years. I welcome this verdict on behalf of VCK. We call on the government of Tamil Nadu to prevent such killing in the future. Prison,” he added.
Mr. Thirumavalavan further said that the killing of honor was not widely recognized in Tamil over the murder of Cannagi – Murgengesan and that such crimes were growing annually. “In the matter of Shakti Vahini vs. Union of India, the Supreme Court ruled in 2018 that the government must prevent the law to prevent crimes of honor. It is that neither the government nor the government of Tamil has adopted such a law after seven years.
