Between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the War of Words exploded and revealed a growing tearing between the former president and one of the most influential billionaires GOP. Once both are considered allies, they are now locked in a bitter public dispute over Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, a large package for taxes and spending Musk says it explodes the deficit. What began as a disagreement with politics was quickly escalated to personal strikes, online blasting and accusations of betrayal – storage of deeper tension.
Here are five heated clashes between Trump and Musk.
1. Musk Slams “Big Beautiful Bill” – “Bill can be big or beautiful, not both”
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk expressed a strong opposition to the “big beautiful account”, sweeping tax and expenditure package supported by President Donald Trump and walked closely in the house before going to the Senate.
In an interview with May 28, CBS warned Musk that the bill could “worsen the federal deficit and undermine the efforts to reduce the costs led by the Ministry of the Government (DOGE)”.
“I think the account may be big or it could be beautiful. But I don’t know if it could be both,” Musk joked, adding, “It increases the budget deficit and undermines the work of the DOGE team.”
The White House shrup criticism
The printing secretary of the White House Karoline Leavitt rejected Musk’s concerns.
“The president already knows where Elon Musk was standing on this law. It does not change the president’s opinion. It is one big, beautiful account and holds it,” she told reporters.
2. “Slim Beautiful Account” vs “Great Beautiful Account”
Musk took X (formerly Twitter) and posted a “Slim Beautiful Victory Account” in a pointed strike on the official name “Big Beautiful Bill”.
3. Trump is pushing back: “He knew the internal functioning of the account”
June 5 Trump responded sharply to Musk’s public disagreement.
“He knew that the internal functioning of the account better than anyone was sitting. He had no problem with it. Suddenly he had a problem and developed the problem only when he found that we were going to reduce the EV mandate,” Trump said.
Musk replies, “False… passed at night”
Musk fired quickly and called Trump’s claim “false”.
“This law has never been shown to me once and was handed over at night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!” Published on X.
He added: “I am fine with cuts on EV credits if the Republicans remove the mountain of disgusting pork in full law from the account.”
4.
Trump later designed Muska’s critics stemming from nostalgia for his role tied to the White House: “Elon worked hard on Doga and I think he is missing … it’s not just Elon, I think that if some people leave it so badly that they develop TDS (Trump Surranement syndrome) … Some accept it and some become enemy.”
MUSK: “Such a brightness”
Musk replied and demanded recognition for Trump’s election success: “Without me, Trump would lose the elections, Dems would control the house and the Republicans would be in the Senate 51-49,” Musk wrote. “Such ungratefulness.”
Trump shot: “I would win Pennsylvania regardless of Elon. I’m very disappointed by Elon.”
The federal submission of the election commission shows that Musk spent over $ 290 million during the election cycle – brought him to the best political donors.

5. Old Tweets, New Answers
Musk also turned to Trump’s old tweets to emphasize hypocrisy. In post X, he rediscovered Trump Tweet from 2013: “I cannot believe that Republicans are expanding the debt ceiling – I am a Republican and I am embarrassed!”
Musk indicated the post: “Wise words. Where is the man who wrote these words? He was replaced by a double body!”
He also quoted Trump’s Tweet from 2012: “No Congress member should be entitled to re-election unless the budget of our country is balanced-not allowed!”
To which Musk replied, “I couldn’t agree more.”
The public rupture between Trump and Musk is underlined by the deepening division within the GOP donor base over fiscal policy and government expenditures. With both men who have a huge influence, this dispute could transform Republican policy before 2026 and beyond.
