A 37-year-old electrician allegedly strangled his five-year-old daughter to death before ending his life on the outskirts of Mulbagal on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Lokesh, a resident of Mudiyanuru village in Mulbagal.
A probe revealed that Lokesh’s wife was allegedly having an affair and had been missing from home for the past few days. Dejected by this, Lokesh decided to take this extreme step, the police officer said.
Passers-by found Lokesh dead near the abandoned car in which his daughter Niharika was also found dead. They then alerted the police.
Mulbagal rural police have registered a case. The bodies were taken for post-mortem.
