Legal experts and civil society heads expressed concern about the declining independence of the Indian Election Commission.
On the round table on the “Institute and Autonomy of the Election Commission”, which was held under the auspices of Rajyang Charch Vedik in Gunture on Sunday (August 31), Siddhartha Law College Principal Babu’s viewer said that the commission had lost in the last decade in the past decade.
He criticized the center for replacing the main judge of India by the Minister of the Union in the selection commission and weakened the autonomy of the institution.
Dr. The Babu viewer also questioned the deletion of 65 lakh votes in Bihar through a hurried revision and called it undemocratic. He said that Aadhaar, available 99% of citizens, should be accepted as birth certificates that most older miss. The speakers, including V. Lakshman Reddy, Nadimpalli Gurudutt and others, emphasized the linking of Aadhaar with voter ID, cleaning roles and protection of constitutional institutions from political interference.
