New Delhi:On Tuesday, the Indian Election Commission (ECI) announced the introduction of a new technological system that provides a more timely and more accurate updates to the trends of electoral electoral participation.
The initiative, entitled Electoral Ratio (VTR), will be integrated into the Ecinet application and will enable the chairman of the officers (PROS) to enter each two hours on the day of the voter’s survey every two hours.
“As part of this new initiative, the chairman (for) of each election station will now enter directly into the electoral participation in the new Ecinet application every two hours on the question of interviewing to reduce the time delay in the update of the approximate questioning trends.
According to ECI, the new VTR sharing process reduces time delays associated with earlier manual reports. However, the legal requirement for details of the description of votes recorded by election agents remains unchanged.
“According to the statutory framework of the rule 49s of the decision on election rules of 1961, the chairmen (professionals) are obliged to provide form 17C, described in detail the description of the votes recorded, agents who are nominated by candidates and are present at the election station at the end of permission. Previously, the sector officers gathered manually data and handed them over to the returning officers (ROS) via telephone calls, SMS or messaging applications.
“This information was aggregated every two hours and uploaded to the electoral participation application. The percentage trends were often updated a few hours later, based on physical records that arrived late at night or even the next day, led to a delay of 4-5 hours or more that led to some perception,” he added.
