A 61-year-old woman was stabbed to death by miscreants at Ramadugu mandal headquarters in Karimnagar district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as E. Gouramma.
According to sources, miscreants barged into Gouramma’s house in broad daylight and attacked her with knives, leaving her seriously injured. She died of stab wounds on the spot.
The bloody murder came just three days before her elder son Mahesh’s wedding and sent shockwaves through Ramadugu.
Mahesh was away from home to distribute wedding invitations when the murder took place.
The identity of the attackers and the motive for the murder are still unknown.
Ramadugu police have registered a case and a detailed investigation is underway.
