Elderly woman killed when ambulance overturns in Kozhikode

An 82-year-old woman died after being run over by an ambulance at Kottamparambu near Peringalam in Kozhikode district on Friday (June 5).

The deceased was identified as Janaki of Peringalam. The accident took place around 1.30 am and her body was immediately shifted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

The emergency vehicle reportedly went off the rain-soaked road near a curve and overturned several times. The driver and two others accompanying the patient escaped with minor injuries and were taken to a private hospital.
