Chhattisgarh has issued fresh contributions to eight Indian police officers (IPS) and deployed them on the anti-Maoist operational duty in the state, officials said on Wednesday (June 11, 2025).
The development comes after Akash Girepunje, another police superintendent (Asp-Contact Division) in the Sukma district, lost his life in the Maoistically planted IED Blast on Monday, June 9.
All eight IPS officers, which belong to the 2021 benefit, were sent as urban superintendents of the police (CSP) in various districts, said a government official and added that the state home ministry issued an order for transfer on Tuesday, June 10.
According to the order, Sukguja CSP Rohit Kumar Shah was sent as another police superintendent (anti-maooist operation) in the Sukma and CSP Jagdalpur district as ASP (Anti-Maoist operation) in Dantewad.
The CSP Ravindra Kumar Meena and Raipur CSP Aman Kumar Raman Kumar Jha was sent as ASPS (Anti-Maoist Operations) Bijapor.
CSP Jagdalpur Akash Shrushimal will be ASP (anti-Maoist operation) BhanupratAppur in the Kanker district, he said.
CSP Civil Lines Raipur Ajay Kumar and CSP Bilaspur Akshay Pramod Sabadra were published as ASPS (Anti-Maoist Operations) in the district of Narayanpur.
In addition, Raiga CSP Akash Kumar Shukla was sent as ASP (Anti-Maoist Operations), Special Task Force, Baghera in the Durg district.
On Monday (June 9), Asp Girepunje was killed and two other police officers were injured after an improvised explosive facility (IED) planted Maoists exploded in a stone quarry near the village of Donndra in the Sukma district.
