The authorities reported a passenger train in Western Egypt on Saturday in Western Egypt and killed at least three people and injured 94 others. In recent years it has been the latest of a series of railway accidents in the country.
The train derailed as he traveled to Cairo from the western Mediterranean province of Matrouh on the north coast of the country, the railway authorities said in a statement. Seven of their cars left the tracks and two of them overturned.
The Ministry of Health published a separate statement with details of the number of victims and added that 30 ambulances were sent to transfer injured to hospitals.
The declaration of railway authorities stated that the investigation was initiated to determine the cause of the derailment.
In Egypt there are common derailments and accidents where the aging rail system was also plagued by incorrect control. Last October, the locomotive crashed into the tail of a passenger train linked to Cairo in southern Egypt, killed at least one person and injured several others.
In recent years, the government has announced initiatives to improve its railways. President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi said that in 2018, approximately 250 billion Egyptian pounds or $ 8.13 billion would be needed to properly rework the neglected railway network of the country.
