VIZIANAGARAM:
Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu said on Tuesday that the Center is making all efforts to set up an aviation university near the Bhogapuram International Airport, which should be ready within six months.
After reviewing the construction progress, he said that 91.7% of the project work has been completed through the joint efforts of the Union and State Governments.
He said that the test operation of the first flight is likely to take place in December 2025 or January 2026. Mr. Rammohan Naidu hoped that the airport would spur economic activity as was evident from the ongoing construction of several star hotels between the Bhogapuram-Vishakhapatnam route.
The minister also said that the aviation university would transform the area into a prominent academic hub.
Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu, Bhogapuram MLA Lokam Madhavi, Vizianagaram Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy and others participated in site inspection.
