CPI state secretary G. Eswaraiah on Wednesday (Dec 3) slammed the coalition government for handing over state education and health to private entities. He said that corporations like Sri Chaitanya, Narayana and private universities have now reached the level of dominance in the education sector. The government is reportedly preparing to hand over ten medical colleges and four teaching hospitals to private players under the PPP model, transferring public land, resources, building construction, staff appointments and salaries worth hundreds of crores of rupees to private interests. Mr. Eswaraiah demanded the repeal of Government Orders 107 and 108 and stressed that medical colleges and teaching hospitals should remain under government control.
