26/11 attacks on Mumbai: Calling the accused’s edition of Tahawwura Rany to India for “big day”, Eknath Omble, brother Ashok Chakra Award and 26/11 martyr Tukaram Omble on Thursday called on the central government to hang up.
Tukaram, a sub-inspector in the Bombai police, followed the rifles of the terrorist Ajmal Kasaba and secured its arrest, but succumbed to the shooters during the terrorist attack 26/11. Armed only by the baton faced shooters and allowed to overwhelm Kasaba’s safety forces. He played a key role in capturing Kasab alive.
Tukaram was posthumously awarded Ashok Chakra, the highest Indian peacefulness, for his bravery during 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
EKNATH OMBLE ON THE RISK EXTRACTING TO INDIA
“Many innocent people and police officers were killed. It was a painful night. Tahawwur Rana was the closest ally of David Headley who was a championship of attack – everyone was supposed to be hung before … but it’s a big day for country.
“He should be filed such a strict punishment that those in Pakistan, who make such things easier, should think twice before committing such things … but we tolerated a delay in Kasab’s punishment because it exposed the real face of Pakistan before the world,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Central Government appointed advocate Narander Mann as a special prosecutor to conduct court proceedings and deal with other matters concerning the case of the National Investigation Agency RC-04/2009/NIA/DLI against Tahawur Hussain Rana and David Coleman Headley.
The Indian government has been striving for its extradition for years, and the recent US Supreme Court decisions have caused its transfer to India. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) takes it in custody upon arrival. Rana, a Pakistan-Canadian national, was convicted in the US for the support of the banned terrorist clothing of Lashkar-E-TABA (years) and providing material support to the group responsible for attacks in Mumbai, killed by more than 174 people.
