ED summons Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi in Sahiti Infratec for money laundering probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi for questioning as part of its money laundering probe into Sahiti Infratec Ventures India Private Limited (SIVIPL), after it was found that around ₹2.1 million from the company was allegedly routed through his bank accounts.

The ED issued the summons on Thursday (September 24, 2026) and asked Mr. Gandhi to appear before the agency on Monday (September 28, 2026). Investigators are expected to question him about the nature and purpose of the transactions and seek an explanation for the money he received from the company.

The summons comes as part of a wider investigation by the ED into the alleged misuse of money collected by SIVIPL from home buyers. The agency has launched a money-laundering probe based on cases registered by the Telangana police against the company, its managing director B. Lakshminarayan and others following complaints from buyers.

According to the ED, SIVIPL collected advances from home buyers through pre-bids for residential projects but allegedly did not deliver the promised flats or refund them. The agency estimated the proceeds of crime generated through the alleged scheme at ₹842.15 crore. Of this, ₹216.91 crore was allegedly collected in cash from the home buyers and kept off the books of the company.

The ED alleged that the funds collected from the buyers were siphoned off through transactions with related and unrelated entities and individuals without genuine business purposes. He also alleged that substantial amounts were withdrawn in cash, while some funds were diverted to overseas bank accounts of Lakshminarayan and his family members.

Mr Gandhi’s questioning is expected to focus on the ₹2.1 crore money trail and the circumstances under which the funds were allegedly moved from SIVIPL to his accounts.
