Directorate for enforcement of law (ED) has lost its credibility and now acts only as a political weapon for the ruling BJP, alleged state secretary of the Communist Party (CPI) Binoy Viswam. “He’s no longer teeth,” he said.
Mr. Viswam pointed out that even higher ED officials were caught in cases of corruption, raising serious questions about the integrity of the agency. Referring to the accusation of ED against the leaders of CPI (m) AC Moideen, Mile and K. Radhakrishnan, MPs, both former district secretaries, claimed that the actions were nothing but a political sensation before the Nilamburk apartment.
He further criticized the emerging political equations and said: “Congress, SDPI and BJP may seem different, but their visions are increasingly aligned and people are beginning to see it through it.”
