The Directorate for Pravo (ED) on Friday (July 19, 2025) said it filed accusations against the leader of the Uttarakhand Congress and former Minister Harak Singh Rawat and his wife, in addition to some others, if there is more than 70 crore in Dehradun in Dehradun.
In its statement, the federal agency of the probe stated that the prosecution complaint was filed before the special preventing of the money laundering (PLA) at the state capital of Dehradun.
The accused mentioned in the defendant include Harak Singh Rawat, his wife Deepti Rawat, his alleged collaborator Birendra Singh Kandari, Laxmi Singh Rana and SMT. Poorna Devi Memorial Trust.
Mr. Rawat (64) is a former Minister of Uttarakhand. He left the ruling side of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) before the surveys of the Assembly of 2022 in the State of the Hill and joined the Congress.
The PMLA ED case comes from the Uttarakhand Police fed against Deepti Rawat and Laxmi Singh Early, who allegedly registered land in their name in the “plot” hatched Kandari, Harak Singhem Rawat, late Sushila Rani and some others.
“Despite the clear order of Hon’ble Court Rani in a conspiracy with others, she registered two holidays for land in Sahaspur in Dehradun.
“These lands were sold by a holder full of Birendra Singh Kandari, a close associate of Haraka Singh Rawat, Deepti Rawat and Laxmi Singh Rana for an amount that was much below a circular rate in this area,” Ed said.
The land plots purchased by Deepti Rawat are now part of the Doon Institute of Medical Science (operated by SMT Poorna Devi Memorial Trust), who is “dominated” by Harak Singha Rawat’s family and friends, the agency added.
ED attached two land, measuring 101 bighas, in January under PMLA. According to the agency, both impossible assets are 6.56 CRORE 6.56 GBP, but their current market value is more than 70 CRORE 70 GBP.
